Note – orienteers should be aware that both the Leith Hill and Winterfold & Pitch Hill areas, which are used on the Surrey Hills Race courses, are currently out-of-bounds for anyone who wishes to run competitively at the JK2008 orienteering festival.  However, the JK officials have confirmed that this embargo does not extend to the Surrey Hills Race – we are told that the official view is that competing in an organised race that follows a set route along paths, such as the Surrey Hills Race, is OK.  But don’t go straying off course looking for possible JK control features!
