Small Area Format (SAF)

For 2019 we’re introducing a 3 hour event option in addition to the existing 2 hour format. The 3 hour event results will be eligible for inclusion in the BMBO national league. Both options will use the same map and checkpoints but the 3 hour one may be run as a Small Area Format (SAF) event.

The checkpoints will be coloured red and blue, you choose which colour to start on and collect as many of that colour as you wish until you swap to the other colour. Once you’ve swapped you can’t revert back to the original colour. Points will be evenly split between the colours. For the 2 hour event the colour has no significance and you can visit the checkpoints in any order.

It is very unlikely but if you do dib the wrong colour by mistake you can later ask for this CP to be deleted and carry on with the original colour. However, you will not be able to revisit it so you might opt to live with a change of plan.

This example Mogador event  map shows our final event of 2018 redrawn as a SAF event.

Series Prizes

Series prizes will be presented to the top 3 finishers in the following categories:

Male Veteran (50+), Male Senior (18-49), Female Veteran (50+), Female Senior (18-49), Youth/Junior.

Series rankings are based on your top 3 scores from this years events. To be eligible for prizes, participants must have attended at least 2 events.
