Richmond Park Night-O March 2014

The final event of the 2013-2014 Night-O Series is a mass start race in Richmond Park, south-west London, on Tuesday 25 March 2014. The race centre will be the Albert pub on Kingston Hill.

The Night-O series is a public race – all are welcome. Please RSVP to the event via Facebook (link above) to let us know you are coming – you can also see who else is coming and post questions. If you are not on Facebook, please let the organiser Paul Couldridge know you are coming (details below) so that the correct number of maps are printed.

Race centre

The race will be based at The Albert on Kingston Hill, 57 Kingston Hill, Norbiton KT2 7PX. The pub serves great food and drink, and there will be the usual opportunity to revisit route choices with other runners.

Getting there

The Albert is a 5 minute walk from Norbiton station. Come out of main exit to the north, cross the road and head down Wolverton Avenue. At the end turn right and the pub is on the left.

Race Details

The final race in the series will be a mass start with butterfly loops from anywhere between 7.15-7.30pm depending on it finally getting dark. There will be no go before the mass start but any late arrivals can go up to 7.30pm. Both courses will close at 9 pm. It is a ten minute walk from the pub to the start area.

The entry fee is £2 for SLOW members, students and juniors; £3 for others. The race will use SI electronic punching with SI cards available to hire on the night. Headlamps are also available for hire if you e-mail the organizer in advance to reserve one.

We will require all competitors to carry whistles during night events for safety reasons. We will have a small number available to purchase at registration if you don’t have one, and these will be checked at the start.

The following courses will be available:

  • Long: 6.5km, technical difficulty = hard
  • Short: 3.5km, technical difficulty = moderate

All competitors take part at their own risk. You MUST be over 16 to take part in this event, unless you are accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a condition of our insurance.

Results will be available on the SLOW website shortly after the event.
