tent and use the chairs. Post race
drinks are just outside the tent. One
person will need to come down to the event centre to fill the bottles with
water and squash. Please could somebody
bring a couple of folding chairs.
Colour Coded start procedure
There are no master maps at start – all copying is done at the event centre
Start box is split into six lanes, one lane for each colour.

It is a punching start. Competitors can enter the start box for their colour course, when they are ready and start on the minute beeb. Whilst they are in the start box use the hand held SI check unit – check all competitors –if problem ask competitor to use clear station and then recheck. If still a problem give them a spare SI card but make a written note of the SI card number and their name.
Keep competitors on the same course apart by 1 minute. Courses are white / yellow / orange / light
green / green / blue. Competitors from
the same club on the same course should be 4 minutes apart. Make sure all competitors dib their SI card
in the start unit. This is a vital
safety check on knowing who started and when.
There will be SLOW officials starting at about 9.45am and also at the
end until about 12.30. The start can be
cleared up from 12.30pm unless the organiser says otherwise. The start unit has to go to the event centre
as soon as possible after 12.30pm
Trail Race start
10km Trail – Briefing by trail start
official at
6km Trail – As above, briefing at 11.10am and number
allocation is 61 to 100. Mass start time
is 11.15am.
Starts are timed starts, no punching start. Any adjustment to times if start is delayed
will be done later on the computers in the event centre.
Finish
Finish for all courses is in a clearing about 100m from
start. One person needs to make sure
that all competitors dib in the finish unit.
This is especially true of the trail race competitors, wearing race
numbers, who may think the finish is like a cross country finish. The walk back to the start will be
marked. Please collect race numbers
and safety pins from all trail competitors and place in box
