Organisers Comments
What a lovely day we had! Thank you to all the competitors for coming. If you are new to orienteering, please keep in touch with us by checking the website www.sloweb.org.uk, or mailing or ringing me.
Many thanks to everyone who helped on the
day and beforehand - Ive sent thank you e-mails
to 42 people! I shant list them all again here. But I must
formally thank Simon Richards and Pat Pritchard of the
Superintendents Office,
In retrospect it was a mistake not to have a Finish banner. David May (Controller) quickly remedied the problem (which led to novices not punching at the Finish) by taping the route from the last control to the Finish. And whilst it was nice and cosy to have Registration and Computing in the same tent, it did become a bit hectic during a short period when people were registering and finishing at the same time! Thanks to a SLOW member who intervened and improved the flow of people at this point.
The staging of the Yvette Baker Trophy
South-East heat at this event led to lots of extra work for the
Registration and Computing teams. Even then we made errors (i.e.
allowing non-eligible, because too old, runners to compete on the
shortest course), which were noticed and put right by the British
Orienteering Federations Development Manager. The results
below reflect these corrections. Im delighted that SLOWs
juniors are through to the Final, to be held at High Ash,
Munford, in
SLOWs forthcoming events:
