South London Orienteers present a weekend of fast, exciting racing in the Guildford area with the prestigious

Southern Night Championships, followed next morning with mass start loop races for the OK Nuts Trophies.

HANKLEY COMMON IS AN EMBARGOED AREA FOR THE 2005 WORLD CUP. ANYONE HOPING TO REPRESENT GREAT BRITAIN THEN IS NOT ALLOWED TO COMPETE NOW.

 

Courses:                                All the usual BOF classes from M/W16 upwards

Map:                       1:15,000 (updated 2002; fast mix of heathland and forest)      Starts: 17.30-19.00

Courses:                4 loop races with prizes in the following categories:

A  Men's Open (brown equivalent)                                                  Start: 10.30

B  Women's Open, Men 18-, Men 45+  (blue equivalent)              Start: 10.40

C  Women 18-, Women 45+, Men 60+ (green equivalent)             Start: 10.45

D  Novice men and women (red equivalent)                                    Start: 10.50

Plus colour coded EOD for white, yellow, orange and light green and free string course

The OK Nuts Trophy in memory of Mike Wells Cole, former British Champion and a member of Nutfielders OK (now merged with SLOW), who died in 1976, will be awarded to the winner of the Men's Open course.

The OK Nuts Women's Trophy will be awarded to the first woman on the Women's Open course.

The OK Nuts Junior Trophy in memory of Margaret Loveless, a longstanding member of  SLOW, who died in 1993, will be awarded to the best overall Junior, which will be a subjective decision based on the best performance by a M/W18 or younger.
