Organisers Comments:

Thank you all for coming and making a new record entry of (approx?!) 68 runners. Around 65% of you were non-orienteers and although quite a few of those hung in with the pack there were also a number “off the back” sorting it out themselves. But as many of these were doing this as training for a Corporate Challenge adventure race I suppose that’s what you wanted. Come to the next one and tell us how you got on.

At the sharp end the winner of all last year’s races, Martin Stepanek, got away early on to make it four in a row. So some of you might be interested to know that he will have moved back east by the next race and we should be in for a really open contest. Congratulations also to Alison Gourd for taking the ladies prize on the 6km.

The next races are from the Hawker Centre (22nd June) off the Richmond Road and so food and beer will be available afterwards. The final races in the series are on 20th July on Wimbledon Common, using the same changing rooms as this time.

If you enjoyed this one bring some more friends along next time. This is a race format where the more people who are running the more fun will be had by all. If you missed this race and are just checking the web-site, the race format consists of an orienteering course that has the look and feel of a cross-country race and it seemed to work for those from each background. Just ask those that were there.

See you at the next one
