Mobile-O Event
Wimbledon Common
Tuesday 9 June 2009
This is a competition for pairs: one person (the "runner") has a mobile
phone and the electronic timer (SI card, dibber, magic finger, whatever you like to call
it) and visits the control points; the other person (the "control freak") has a mobile
phone and the map with the course marked but stays at base and instructs the runner where
to go! The runner visits the control points in order as per a normal orienteering course.
Pairs may then swap over. If you are not in a pair, don't worry - just turn up and
we'll find you a partner.
Location - parking is at the
Windmill car park.
Map link here. Nearest tube
station is Southfields 1.9km away, nearest train station is Wimbledon 2.5km away.
Courses - approx 3-4km for adults and 2km for juniors and
adult beginners.
Can be done as normal O courses if you prefer.
Start times - 18:30 - 19:45
Course closing time - 20:30 (the organiser wants to go to the pub too)

if you plan to come so we can estimate number of maps needed.
