The first race of South London Orienteers’ five event 2018-19 Night-O Series takes place in Richmond Park, south-west London, on Tuesday 30th October 2018. The race centre is the Lass O’ Richmond Hill on Queen’s Road, Richmond.

The Night-O series are public races – all are welcome. Please RSVP to the event via Facebook (link above) to let us know you are coming – you can also see who else is coming and post questions. If you are not on Facebook, please let the organiser Duncan Grassie (email details at bottom of this post) know you are coming  so that the correct number of maps are printed.

Race Centre

The race will be based at The Lass O Richmond Hill on Queen’s Road, Richmond, TW10 6JJ. The pub serves great food and drink, and there will be the usual opportunity to revisit route choices with other runners.

Getting there

The pub is a 15 minute walk from Richmond Station (SW Mainline, Underground, London Overground) or Richmond Bus Station (many routes.)

Race Details

The entry fee is £5, or £3 for SLOW members, students and juniors. The race will use SIAC contactless punching. SIAC cards are available to hire for £1 if you do not have your own. A small number of headlamps are also available to borrow free of charge but you need to e-mail the organiser in advance to reserve one.

Richmond Park is one of the best orienteering areas inside the M25. It is the largest of the royal parks and a national nature reserve.

These courses are offered:

  • Long: approximately 5km, quite challenging
  • Short: approximately 2.5km, quite challenging

All competitors take part at their own risk.

Results will be available on the SLOW website shortly after the event.
