Race 3: Dulwich Park

This is the third of four races in SLOW’s July 2008 Park Orienteering Race Series.

Location: Grid ref TQ333736 – map link here.  Enter Dulwich Park by Old College Gate, at the west side of the park (opposite Dulwich Picture Gallery). Registration, start and finish are on the right after 100m.

Public Transport: Nearest stations West Dulwich 1km (trains from Victoria), North Dulwich 1km (trains from London Bridge), Herne Hill 1 mile (trains from Blackfriars and Wimbledon).

Parking: Free car parking inside Dulwich Park (park gates close at 9pm).

Entry fee: £2

Start time: Mass start at 7.30pm. Registration 6.50-7.20pm.

Courses: Long 4.3km, 22 controls, estimated winning time 20 minutes.

Short 2.1km, 11 controls, fairly easy (orange colour-coded standard).

Timing: SportIdent. SI cards will be available for hire.

Map: 1:5000

Afterwards: Food and drink at the Crown and Greyhound, 73 Dulwich Village – 300m north of the park entrance.
