Park Orienteering Race Series
Race 2: Battersea Park

Tuesday 2 June 2009

The next park series race will be at Battersea Park on Tuesday 2nd June. Have a go on this cracking area not used since the World Cup in 2005!

Meeting Point: At La Gondola al Parco, the cafe inside Battersea Park. Registration, start and finish will all be here. It's on the eastern side of the park, about 250m north of the Rosery Gate park entrance off Queenstown Road. See the arrow on this map link. Nearest public transport: Battersea Park or Queenstown Road train stations, or buses along Queenstown Road.

Starts: From 6:30 to 7:30pm

Cost: SLOW members £1, others £2. Everyone is welcome! Cost includes map and hire of an electronic timing device (SI-card), if required. Entry on the day only.

Courses: Long course 5km (hard), short course 3km (easy)

Facilities: Bag drop, toilets and food & drink all at the cafe. No changing rooms as such, but you could use the toilets if stuck.

Map: Battersea Park map at 1:5,000, originally surveyed for World Cup 2005, minor revisions in 2009. Maps are overprinted on waterproof paper. There are lots of tricky bits that should keep you on your toes!

Hope to see you there.
