Park Orienteering Race Series
Race 1: Clapham Common

The first SLOW Park Orienteering Race of the summer 2009 series will be held in Clapham Common on Tuesday 19th May.  Full details are set out below.

Registration/Start/Finish/Socialising – will be outside the “Windmill on the Common” Pub on Clapham Common South Side (which actually forms the South East side of Clapham Common). The pub is halfway between Clapham Common and Clapham South tube stations (Northern Line). Exit from either Clapham Common / Clapham South tube station and walk 600m South West / North East along Clapham Common South Side and you will see the “Windmill on the Common” on your right / left on the edge of the Common. Start/Finish – will be 50m from the pub.

Start times – will be 18:30 to 19:30.

Courses – 2 courses approx 5.5km and 2.5km (easy). SI electronic punching, available for hire on the evening. Pre-printed, waterproof maps.

Cost – the charge will be £1 for SLOW members, plus all juniors and students ; and £2 for everyone else.
