Middle Race

SLOW evening event on Oxshott Heath, which is part of Esher Commons. Technical courses on an updated map. Note: The courses at this event will be more technical than those in SLOW's summer park series and will represent a greater challenge.

Meeting Point: Oxshott Village Sports Club, Steels Lane, Oxshott, Surrey, KT22 0RF.

Car Parking: There is car parking at the Sports Club.

Nearest Public Transport: The nearest Railway station is Oxshott, on the Guildford via Cobham line from Waterloo (35 minute journey). 15 minutes walk to the event centre.

Registration: From 1800 to 1915.

Starts: From 1830 to 1930. Courses close at 2030.

Facilities: The Sports Club provides changing, showers, bar & food (if ordered in advance). Food must be ordered in advance if required. Typically this is lasagne, with a cost of approximately £5 (payable on the night). Email alanleakey[at]bigfoot.com if you wish to preorder food, stating numbers and whether a meat or vegetarian option is required.

Start and Finish: 10 minutes walk from the meeting point.

Map: 1:10000. 5m contours. Maps are overprinted on waterproof paper.

Cost: SLOW members £1, others £2. Everyone is welcome! Cost includes map and hire of an electronic timing device (SI-card), if required. Entry on the day only.

Courses: Long course 4.5km (includes a map turn over). Short course 2.8km.
