Controller's Comments

Mike's courses were very well planned and required very little input from me as controller. The conditions on the night were better than I expected after the amount of rain we had leading up to the event and everyone I spoke to enjoyed their runs, it’s just a shame the entry was so low.

On the plus side the low entry meant we could all park at Russ Hill Hotel and Charlie’s parking system wasn’t required. I felt that a lot of effort went into the organising of this event but the low entry let us down, a bit like the old Saturday night senile events.

Well done to Charlie and all of the SLOW helpers for putting on a quality Championship event and well done to all of the South East Night Champions.

A very big thank you to the small number of SLOW members for helping and making sure everything went so smoothly. Whether it’s 50 people or 200 entrants the amount of effort is generally much the same. However for this event, if we had just another 10-15 cars we would needed a more complicated car parking system, involving a second car park, 1 ½ miles away and I would have wanted much more help. Your general enjoyment of the event may have also been affected.

The weather was kind to us and it certainly helped that we had no missing persons. Some of you finished off the evening in the hotel bar/restaurant and it was good to see some happy prize winners.
