CROC event – Happy Valley & Coulsdon Common

This event is organised by Croydon Orienteering Club (CROC) and is part of the London Tuesday evening summer orienteering series – all SLOW members (and anyone else) are very welcome to attend!

Location

Happy Valley and Coulsdon Common. Parking, start and finish at TQ317568, near The Fox PH. Map link here.

Directions

From London, head for Purley Cross (A22/A23 divergence), then go south on the A23. After a short distance, turn left onto the B2030 (Stoats Nest Road) towards Caterham. Follow this road until you see greenery on both sides of you, then look for the first turning on the right (Fox Lane) which leads to the car park.

From outside London, leave the M25 at junction 6 and head north on the A22. Fork left onto the B2030 into Caterham and follow it where 
it turns left at the roundabout in the town centre and up the hill.  In Caterham-on-the-Hill turn left onto the B2031 towards Merstham, 
then at a mini-roundabout turn right into Coulsdon Road. This becomes the B2030 again shortly after Tesco, and Fox Lane is the first left 
after you pass the signs welcoming you to Croydon.

Public transport: 466 bus from East Croydon or Purley – check the TFL Journey Planner for times to the "Coulsdon Common/Fox" stop.

· Score event – 45 minute or 30 minute options

· Start times 18:45 – 19:45

· Map 1:10,000, A4; pre-marked but please bring your own map bag

· Pin punching

Entry fee – £1 for adults, free for juniors.
