Hinchley Wood Street-O Race

The November SLOW street orienteering event of the 2009-10 series will be held in Hinchley Wood on Tuesday 10 November.
Registration, start and finish
- 73 Claygate Lane, Hinchley Wood, Esher, Surrey KT10 0BQ.
Start times - turn up to start any time between 7 and 8pm.
Travel - nearest stations Hinchley Wood (10 minutes' walk), Esher (20 minutes' walk), Surbiton (take the K3 bus to the junction of Claygate Lane and Manor Road North, then 5 minutes' walk).
Parking - Unrestricted on adjoining streets.
Race format - the normal Street-O format - you have 60 minutes to visit as many controls as possible, in any order, and return to Finish.
Points vary from 10 to 40 per control. There is a 1 point penalty for every 3 seconds late back after your hour.
Don't forget to bring a watch (essential!) and a pen to write down your answers to the "clues" as you go around.
A head torch is strongly advised - footpaths and alleys are not well lit (this is Surrey, not London!)
Safety - be careful when crossing any busy roads. You may wish to wear fluorescent clothing.
Map - Street-O format, c. 1:12,000, A4, new map linking to part of Paul Nixon's Surbiton
map to make a change from the usual Hinchley Wood map. Will be printed on waterproof paper.
Cost - £1 for the map.
Showers and changing - be prepared to queue!
Food - bread, cheese, soup, etc. will be provided (donations towards expenses welcome).
