MBO SCORE RESULTS 2022

Individual Events

Results and Race Reports for each event can be found on the BMBO website. For MapRun events, tracks and splits can be found on the MapRun console Leader Board or Event Selector. Note that we use the BMBO scoring scheme (graduated penalties) which is reflected in results on the SLOW and BMBO sites but not in the MapRun app (1 point per minute late). Any missing checkpoints have been corrected in MapRun.

South Downs

The Swan Inn at Falmer was our base to ride the hilly terrain of the South Downs north of Brighton and was a new location for SLOW. It proved a popular choice and the majority of controls were located on the tops and in the valleys of the South Downs National Park, affording fine views of the Downs and beyond to the sea. Several controls were located in the flatter terrain of the Weald to the North, which involved a steep descent and subsequent re-ascent of the notorious ‘North side of the Downs’.

Albury

This event was based at Albury Sports Club which proved to offer excellent facilities and be an ideal location for a course. With a larger A3 map, the area extended to Newland’s Corner and the North Downs ridge, St. Martha’s Hill and across to Blackheath. As usual Blackheath lived up to it’s reputation for being challenging to navigate.

Holmbury St. Mary

We returned to a favourite area in the Surrey Hills albeit quite hilly. There were some area of the map that were open access so this gave riders plenty of opportunity to test their navigation. Using MapRun6 again meant we could set the course over a wider area and with plenty of control points to visit.

Puttenham

We had an excellent start to the season with a great turnout. Routes went more North and East than we have used before and the area was much appreciated by everyone. Trails were fast and dry which led to there being 6 clearances on the day.
