Wimbledon Common relocation club night 22 Oct 2013

A week before the first Night O of the season starts you have a chance to get out onto a technical area to practice relocation skills that could well help out the following week. We will meet at the Thames Hare and Hounds club house which is the other side of the A3 from the Robin Hood Gate of Richmond Park from 18.30 where I will pair you up for the different exercises. You will need a compass, leg cover and a head torch. I do have 4 club head torches so they will be on a first come first served basis. Andy Robinson has twisted my arm to head up to the Telegraph for a beer, food and analysis of activities from earlier.

Final City Race Training 17 Sept 2013

Jayne (last years city race planner) has kindly planned a course on last years map to get you ready for next weeks city race. It will be 5.3km long but don’t forget that you need to add 50% for running distance. There are also a few cut offs in case people don’t want to run the full distance. We will meet outside the Christopher Hatton pub( )where the start is situated from 18:30 with a cut off at 20:00. All you will need is a compass, control description holder if you have one and a pair of trainers.

London City Race Training Southwark Cathedral 03 September 2013

The SLOW training night is back for the winter after all this years sun. The first event to prepare for is our City Race. I will be planning a score course from Southwark Cathedral using the area south of London Bridge. All you need is a compass to check orientation and a rubber neck to keep an eye on the traffic. Jayne Sales will be following on from this on the 17 Sept planning a course on last years map on the North side of the river. All standards are welcome for these club nights and coaching is available to a levels.

Peg Race Wimbledon Common 30 April 2013

A Peg Race is a mass start individual event that helps head to head racing keeping all abilities together for the entire distance. I will explain more about it before the start but it will be a fun final warm up for the British Champs the following weekend. Although the event is being planned on Wimbledon Common, we will again meet outside the pub by 19:00hrs. You will need to bring O kit and a compass. The Telegraph Pub(SW15 3TU) is only a short walk from the Greenman pub bus station or a good warm up from Putney mainline.

Robbo Relays Wimbledon Common 23rd April 2013

Next weeks training will be Robbo Relays, which I have been informed is a mass start relay in teams of 3. Christine Robinson (multiple British, JK and Harvester Relay winner) will been coaching the session and explain it all on the night. It looks a lot of fun and will be good for all levels of ability. Although the event is being planned on Wimbledon Common, you need to meet Christine outside the Telegraph pub (SW15 3TU) by 19:00hrs. You will need to bring O kit and a compass. It should also entice all those non Night O people out because of the Summer Time Saving:-) The Telegraph Pub is only a short walk from the Greenman pub bus station or a good warm up from Putney mainline.

Clapham Common Pre British Champs Intervals 16 April 2013

Your last chance to tune up and get ready for the British Champs. We’ll meet at the Bandstand at 19:00 hrs for some intervals in the light for the first time this year. All you need to bring is your trainers and a positive attitude for some hard work, so embrace the pain:-) See you there…..
The following week Guest Coach will be Christine Robinson (multiple British, JK and Harvester Relay winner) setting the training so watch this space for further information.
