Public Transport
Several options are available:
- The nearest mainline station to the pub is Maze Hill (north of Tom Smith Close on the map above). Direct trains from Cannon Street and London Bridge every 10 minutes, taking less than 15 minutes – look for trains marked ‘via Greenwich’. Coming from London, exit at the front end of the same platform and walk down the path. At the road, you’ll see a small path to your right. Walk through there and continue straight on alongside the railway. The Vanbrugh is about 100 yards away on the left hand side.
- Take the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich, then go to bus stop C. The best bus to take is the 188 (the 129 takes a scenic route). Get off at the Tyler Street stop and walk up Colomb Street (see map above). The pub is at the top of Colomb Street.
- It is about a mile walk from the nearest DLR station at Cutty Sark. The 180 and 188 buses leave from Stop A outside the station. From Stop C in Greenwich town centre (near the naval college), all of the following buses go to Tyler Street: 129, 177, 180, 188, 386. Alternatively, change from the DLR to National Rail at Greenwich and follow the directions in (1) above.
Parking is restricted and very limited in the streets near the pub – it is recommended to use public transport.
Entry Fee
£1 for SLOW members, students and juniors, £2 for others.

Race Format
Normal Street-O format with clues located at each control site. You have 60 minutes to visit as many controls as possible, in any order, and return to the finish. The map is 1:12500. The sunset time will be 8.34pm, so for once, you won’t need a headtorch!
SI will be used to time the start and finish, so please bring your SI card if you have one. Don’t forget to bring a pen to write down your answers to the clues as you go around, and a watch. General information about street orienteering.
Safety
All competitors take part at their own risk. You MUST be over 16 to take part in this event, unless you are accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a condition of our insurance.
Post-Race
Food and drink at the pub. The pub serves half-price food on a Tuesday, so please support them by eating there after your run. The pub has a beer garden, so assuming that the weather is nice, it will be possible to move outside and have more space.
Results
Results will be available on the SLOW website shortly after the event.
