Park Race – Cannizaro Park

The sixth race in the 2025 Park Race series will be at Cannizaro Park, south-west London, on Tuesday 24th June.

Race Centre

The race will be based at The Crooked Billet, SW19 4RQ, The pub serves great food and drink, and there will be the usual opportunity to revisit route choices with other runners. Kit can be left while you run (at you own risk).
Note that due to online entry (see below), you do not need to come to The Hope before your run if you choose – you can go directly to the start. However you must come back to the pub to download.

Getting there

The Crooked Billet is close to Wimbledon village. The pub is a 25 minute walk from Wimbledon Station (SW Mainline and Underground) or Raynes Park. Bus route 200 runs from Wimbledon station and Raynes Park, closest stop is “Edge Hill” on Ridgway. Route 93 runs between Wimbledon and Putney Bridge, stop “Marryat Road” or “Wimbledon War Memorial”. Race Details and Entry

The entry fee is £6 for British Orienteering members*, students and juniors; £8 for others. The races use both SIAC contactless and SI electronic punching; SIAC cards are available to hire for those who do not have their own for £2.

All entries, including on the day, will be online. Entries will stay open until 19:25 on the day of the event subject to map availability.
The start is 450m from the pub along West Side Common, near the Hotel du Vin. The finish is adjacent to the start.

Start Times: 18:00 – 19:30

Courses close 20:30 – you must return to the pub by this time, even if you have not completed the course.

These courses are offered:

  • Long: approximately 4.5km (straight line)
  • Short: approximately 2km (straight line)

The Long course will have a map flip and has over 30 controls. You will need to hire an SI card if your dibber cannot hold more than 30 controls.

Both courses use the map scale 1:2500 with 2.5 m contours. The race area is traffic free.

All competitors take part at their own risk. Shorts are permitted.
