Bright shiny eyes. And i mean the orienteers eyes not the foxes and rabbits you encountered on the common. Bright shiny eyes at the start and bright shiny eyes at the finish. That makes me a happy planner.
Wimbledon Common map will be updated next year so the changes in vegetation and path network that may have led you astray will be fixed but i tried to keep you away from the brambles and used a fair bit of golf course on a relatively light cold winter’s evening. The long legs were the deciders!
Congratulations for the quick runners and especially well done to the newcomers and those who haven’t orienteered in a while – a tricky event to (re)learn.
Special thanks to Oli for bringing in controls and Nathan and James on the start. And then the reliable Gordon, Steve, Don and Pete keeping the pub warm with registration/download.
