Woodcote MBO SCORE EVENT SUNDAY 17TH Oct 2021

Our fourth and final mountain bike orienteering event of the 2021 Series will be held at Woodcote on Sunday 17th October. News, updates and discussion about the event can be posted on the SLOW Facebook event or in the SLOW MBO Facebook Group.

Entry

Riders are encouraged to enter in advance. You will need a BMBO account. An Adult Day Rider account is free as is Under 21s membership. Full adult membership is currently £8 Jan – Dec and will give you a £1 discount on all SLOW and other BMBO events.

Membership runs until the end of each calendar year. If you have had an account at any time please re-use it it to renew your membership as either a Day Rider or Full Member. Under 21 accounts may take a few days to be activated.

Your age class for ALL 2021 events is your age on 31st Dec 2021.

There is an option to use an entry form which can be found on the “Event Flyer” link on the BMBO website. Please bring the form with you or submit it via email. Payment may be made on the day by contactless card payment or cash. The closing date for online entries is shown on the BMBO website.

Event Details

Maps will be A4 1:25,000 Ordnance Survey maps. The event will use Sport Ident electronic punching at all controls.  2 and 3 hour options are available.  The 3 hour course will be Small Area Format (SAF).

Only contactless SIAC dibbers may be used & will be provided if you don’t have your own. Lost SIAC dibbers will be charged at £63.

START TIMES 9:00 – 11:00

The event will be run under British Mountain Bike Orienteering rules, which competitors are advised to read in advance. The BMBO also has some helpful MBO Score tips.

All riders must wear a helmet and carry a whistle and first aid kit (a minimum of plasters & dressings). The following equipment is also recommended:

  • Mobile phone for use in an emergency
  • Waterproof top
  • Compass and map board or cardboard to support the map on your handlebars

There will be series prizes for top senior male/female, veteran male/female and youth categories, based on the best 3 results over the course of the year.

Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19, who is living in a household with someone who has a possible or confirmed COVID-19 infection, or who has been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace should remain at home.

Two participants who are looking after children may start early and both ride 2 hour events one after the other.

All competitors take part at their own risk.

Results will be available on the SLOW and BMBO websites shortly after the event.
