2021 Series & Event Results
Thursley iOrienteering event – 12th Dec
Results from our first iOrienteering phone based event. Congratulations to Mark Humphrey for winning the solos and Rachel Clay / Mark Henrick for leading the pairs.
Series
Here are the SERIES RESULTS after the 4th and final event of the 2021 Series. The sheet shows scores normalised out of 500 for each event.

Woodcote
Several riders had ridden Trailquest courses around Woodcote in the naughties but this was a new area for SLOW and proved an excellent base for an event. Despite some rain the course area had dried out over the previous weeks and was great for riding. There was a big variety of route choices and lots of off road riding, see the course map here.
Salisbury
September was a joint event with Wimborne Orienteers on Cranborne Chase near Salisbury. It was great to ride a new area with sun, big views and dry trails. Despite the big distances the top 3 riders only missed one checkpoint each. There were lots of options which resulted in a large variety of different route choices.
Effingham
August saw us return to Effingham which offers a wealth of routes to choose from and a fantastic area to ride. With the recent easing of restrictions we were able to accept entries on the day again so it was nice to see people turning up despite the unseasonal forecast.
Chiddingfold
This is an ideal area for an event and was well overdue for a return visit. With so much rain in recent weeks it turned out to be a bit of a mud fest particularly for those who chose to start on blue controls but somehow those starting on reds managed to return with fairly clean bikes! It was great to hear how much everyone enjoyed themselves after the recent break from events.
Series Prizes
Series prizes are presented to the top 3 finishers in the each following category: Men’s Vets (50+), Women’s Vets (50+), Men’s Seniors (21-49), Women’s Seniors (21-49), Juniors (Under 21). There must be sufficient qualifiers for all the prizes to be awarded in each category.
To be eligible for prizes, participants must have attended at least 2 events. Course planners are credited for the events they plan with the average of their best 2 event results.
