Covent Garden Street-O results

Well done to everyone who came out to Covent Garden on a lovely evening. Thank you Phil and members of SPOC for organising and finding some great clues across the sights of central London. Thanks to the the Prince of Wales for having us.

Dan C was the top scoring man with a mammoth 810 points narrowly beating Duncan, while Ausra was top lady with an impressive 605, with Kezia only 20 points back.

It was a tight fought battle between the two top mixed pairs with only 13 points separating the Caruanas and the Watsons.

Organiser’s comments

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Covent Garden Street-O. I hope you enjoyed the variety of terrain from intricate slow-run alleyways in the east to the fast, wide streets of Mayfair.

I tried to plan the controls to combine route choice, navigation challenges in the narrow lanes, and central London locations that people might not have known were there. Covent Garden and Soho have high volumes of pedestrians at almost any time of day. Hopefully you found that most of the natural routes between controls went across the busiest areas rather than following them. 

It was unfortunate that since my final check on the control sites the space invader had been obliterated by building works. For those who missed it, you can read more about Invader’s work at space-invaders.com. Control 20 was LDN_110.
