Race Details & Entry

Registration and entry is online only. Entry via SiEntries. All entries, including on the day, will be online. Entries will stay open until 19:25 on the day of the event subject to map availability.

The entry fee is £3 for juniors and students; £5 for senior British Orienteering members*; £7 for others. Your entry fee includes a full colour map printed on waterproof paper, which you can keep as a souvenir after your run, and a printout of your race time and splits at the end of the race.

*If you are not yet a member, do consider joining or renewing for 2022! Please see our ‘Join Us‘ page for more details.

The races use both SIAC contactless and SI electronic punching. SIAC cards are available to hire for those who do not have their own for £2 (free for juniors). Hire cards to be collected at The Spencer.

You are welcome to participate in pairs or groups. Each entry uses one electronic chip and provides one map, so make as many entries as the number of maps the group will want. We do recommend having your own map as map-reading and navigating is part of the fun! If making a single entry for a group, please put “+1” or “+Runner B name” etc at the end of the surname field in the online entry system so that the club can monitor participation numbers.

Start TimesBetween 1800 and 1930

Courses close at 20:15. Controls will be collected from then.

These courses are offered:

  • Long: approximately 5km
  • Short: approximately 2.5km

Both Long and Short courses have timed-out road crossings over busy roads. Thus, under-16’s will not be allowed to run at this event unless accompanied by an adult. The timed-out road crossings are shown on the control description as a mandatory road crossing symbol.

Shorts are permitted. There are areas where the grass is growing rapidly so you may wish to consider wearing full leg cover.

Additional information

All competitors take part at their own risk. Adequate clothing should be worn for the conditions.

Photos may be taken at the event.

Results will be available on the SLOW website shortly after the event.

Helping on the night

This event can’t happen without volunteer effort on the night. If you can lend a hand on the Start, or with collecting controls, it is greatly appreciated – please get in touch with Stephen or Joanna. Everyone who helps will be able to run.
