GLOSS – Streatham Common, Sunday 16th July

This is the fifth event in the Greater London Orienteering Summer Series (GLOSS), a series of races run by the clubs in and around London.

The events are perfect for beginners and families and there is a club competition for the prestigious London Bus trophy for those who are members of an orienteering club.

Assembly is at The Rookery Cafe. Support the cafe after your run if you can (they take card payments only).

There are public toilets near the cafe.

The nearest train stations at Streatham Station (15min walk from assembly) or Streatham Common (20 min walk from assembly). Transport for London website: https://tfl.gov.uk/

Bike racks are available near the end of Streatham Common S, a few metres from assembly.

Free car parking available on Streatham Common S and neighbouring roads such as Covington Way, Copley Park and Baldry Gardens. However there may be limited spaces and so public transport is encouraged.

The timing for this course is used for the interclub competition.
GLOSS with extension5.5kmThere is an extension loop for those wanting a longer run after doing the GLOSS course.
The extension section timing is not included in the interclub competition.

Actual overall distance run will likely be 25% longer.

Not all small paths are mapped.

Some minor paths are slightly overgrown. There is also some small areas of long grass.

Course close 1:30pm, when we will begin to collect controls. You will need to have returned to Download at the cafe by this time.

The controls and Finish are SIAC enabled. You will need to punch the Start.

Entries before Monday 10th July will be charged at £8 for seniors (with discount of £2 for members of British Orienteering) and £3 for juniors and students.

Entry prices increase by £2 for seniors on Monday 10th July.

Competitors take part in this race at their own risk. Entries and results will be processed by computer, your entry will be taken as agreement to this. The competition is run under the rules and guidelines of, and sanctioned by, British Orienteering.
