Street-O: 13 December 2011
The next Street-O race of the Winter 2011-12 series takes place around Clapham Common, starting at The Windmill pub. We have a room booked and the pub has a good food menu, so do stay around afterwards to socialise. PLEASE BRING YOUR SI CARD IF YOU HAVE ONE.

Registration
In The Windmill pub, which is on the east edge of Clapham Common, on a road usefully called Clapham Common South Side. Start and Finish from outside the pub. We have a room reserved for bags and socialising afterwards, but registration should be near the main entrance; bags are left in the pub at your own risk.
The pub is about half a mile from both Clapham Common and Clapham South stations on the Northern line. There are plenty of bus routes connecting Clapham Junction to Clapham Common.

£1 for SLOW members, students and juniors, £2 for others.

Race Format
Normal Street-O format with clues located at each control site. You have 60 minutes to visit as many controls as possible, in any order, and return to the finish. SI will be used to time the start and finish, please bring your SI card if you have one. Don’t forget to bring a pen to write down your answers to the clues as you go around, and a watch. A headtorch will be useful. General information about street orienteering.
Safety
Fluorescent clothing is recommended for safety. Most controls will be located in the streets around the edge of Clapham Common. The common has many clear and well-lit paths which should be used to cross it. A couple of areas off the paths which are wooded will be marked out of bounds. All competitors take part at their own risk.
You MUST be over 16 to take part in this event, unless you are accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is a condition of our insurance.
Post-Race
The pub serves food until 2230 and closes at midnight. The December Street-O is traditionally an informal end-of-year social, so please come along and join us afterwards. More details about The Windmill can be found on their Facebook page.
