Box Hill Record Breaker James McMullen

The results from the 2011 Box Hill Fell Race are here.

Congratulations to overall winner James McMullen of Thames Hare & Hounds and ladies’ winner Sarah Rollins of British Army Orienteering Club. James set a new course record of 46:55, beating Chris Beecham’s time of 47:17 in 1997. James McMullen was last year’s winner too, but improved his time by over five minutes. Sarah Rollins was also the ladies’ winner in the 2009 race.

Sunday's OK Nuts Trophy at Longmoor is currently ON

Update at 3pm on Saturday – The OK Nuts Trophy event on Sunday is currently ON. The A3 and the access road into the camp are currently clear, the gritter lorries for the area are based at Longmoor.

However please allow a significant amount of extra time to get to the event as the A3 may have very slow moving traffic, particularly the single-carriageway section at Hindhead.

See current traffic speeds on the A3 heading south on Google Maps or Frixo.

Be prepared for running in snow!

Please double-check SLOWeb before you travel in case there is late-breaking information.

Pimlico Street-O and Christmas Social

Tim and CJ hosted the Pimlico Street-O on Tuesday and also provided the food and mulled wine for the post-race Christmas social! Results are now up.

All runners were given a Santa hat to run in, with a team badge on it. By swapping the hats with other runners met during the race, competitors could gain an extra thirty points. With around 60 people in Santa hats running around Pimlico, Victoria, Millbank and Belgravia for an hour, our presence on the streets was highly visible!

Lost property:
> – Pair of silver/lime green Asics running shoes
> – Petzl (maroon Tikka XP)
> – Black glove (probably ladies)
