The headline race of the London City Race weekend will be on a newly extended map – as well as orienteering in the heart of the ancient City, it will take in Wapping and parts of the East End and, subject to permissions and course constraints, some courses will have a section beside the Tower of London!
The event will be based from John Orwell Sports Centre on Tench Street in Wapping, E1W 2QD. It is about a 600m (6 minute) walk from Wapping railway station (on the London Overground) or Shadwell railway station (on the DLR and London Overground). See the tube map for connections to Wapping and Shadwell. From these stations, please follow the route shown in the final details to avoid going out-of-bounds.

Advance entries are now closed. Very limited entry on the day will be available, subject to spare maps remaining. If you hired an SI card or bought a technical T-shirt, these can be picked up at any of the three events of the London City Race weekend.
All distances approximate. See the final details document for the final straight-line distances and numbers of controls. The area is largely flat so climb is not listed.

** All courses are open to all aged over 16 (on race day), including people new to the sport of orienteering, however complete beginners might wish to run the “Newcomers’ Race” which has reduced technical difficulty, i.e. the very tricky routes to controls are minimised. However don’t be put off from running the main course if you want to rise to the challenge!
*** Under 16s can only run the Juniors or Kids courses. Under 12s can only run the Kids course. Ages are normally based on your 31 December, except the Under 16s course which is based on age on race day.
