Event Details

Events are public – all are welcome. Waterproof 1:25,000 Ordnance Survey format maps will be provided. MapRun is used to record which checkpoints are visited, there are no physical markers on the ground.

The majority of riders use mountain bikes but many of the events are suitable for gravel bikes. You may gain on the smoother sections but have to go more slowly on rougher tracks. If you’re not familiar with the terrain at an event location please contact the organisers.

All riders must wear a helmet and carry a whistle, mobile phone and first aid kit (a minimum of plasters & dressings). The following equipment is also recommended:

  • Waterproof top
  • Compass and map board or cardboard to support the map on your handlebars.

British Mountain Bike Orienteering (BMBO) rules will be used which competitors are advised to read in advance.
